Dannii Minogue - This Is It: Best Of Review

The long wait is over! Released midnight on 23/08/2013, Dannii Minogue’s new album “This Is It Best Of” is one for your collection.

The album contains songs from early Dannii such as: 'Love and Kisses', '$ucce$$', 'Don't Wanna Take This Pain', "This Is The Way" and many more. The masterpiece doesn’t end there; it features songs from the existing album; Girl. These songs are "All I Wanna Do", "Disrememberance", "Everything I Wanted" and "Coconut."

This Is It: The Best Of has one of Dannii's well-known hit songs "I Begin To Wonder" which reached number two in the UK singles chart in March 2003.

Another feature on the album is the amazing mash up of Madonna's "Into the Groove" & Dannii's song "I Don't Wanna Lose This Feeling" which pleased long term fans as it is a firm favourite.

The album keeps surprising fans. It includes two bonus songs which Dannii has collaborated on.

The first song that was added to the album is a duet with her big sister Kylie Minogue. Both Minogue sisters covered one of Abba’s greatest hits; “The Winner Takes It All”. This collaboration is almost certain to get you singing at the top of your lungs. The second bonus song that is on the album is the one many fans were waiting for; ‘Cos You’re Beautiful”. Dannii had teased recording a song with a previous ‘Team Minogue’ member on TV show ‘Style Queen’. Fans had been waiting for two years to hear the final recording on this track and it certainly did not disappoint.

Here are my top five favourite tracks that will make you want to either dance, sing in the car/bedroom or chill out to:

1. This Is It
Although this track is a cover of Melba Moore’s 1976 hit, it will instantly put you in a good mood; right from the feel good track of the song and the lyrics to the video with a summer vibe. The video will take you back to the days where you used to copy dance moves from the TV.

2. Who Do You Love Now?
Who Do You Love Now, produced by dance group Riva reached number one in the UK’s dance chart. The chorus of the song will have you jumping up and down in a club undoubtedly. One song you should put on if you’re having a bad day.

3. Coconut
If you have still not finished dancing and jumping along to ‘Who Do You Love Now”; “Coconut” is definitely going to keep you going. The backing track drops mid-track to being slower, just as you think the track is about to end, it then gathers up pace. This allows you time to have a quick drink before dance the night away!

4. Disrememberance
Disrememberance is a slower song from the album but still has that dance factor to it. The song will one hundred per cent make you feel relaxed when you listen to it. Dannii’s vocals in this song are amazing. Definitely would recommend you take a listen.

5. I Don’t Wanna Take This Pain
This track features on her first album “Love and Kisses” and another single from Dannii’s early career. This track has incredible vocals and will get you singing along. This song features a rap from Dannii herself. Just like Who Do You Love Now?, you could find yourself relating to the lyrics if you’ve ever been through heartbreak. One of my favourite songs off the album for sure.

This Is It: Best Of features 25 tracks of Dannii’s through the years and will get you dancing throughout.  We all love Disco Dannii and hope it isn't as long before a new album is released. All the best Disco D!
